Destructacon celebrated it's 6th year this 4th of July with more weapons, more destruction, and more fine ass ladies of fine breeding to admire it all. For those who do not know about this event, it is held every 4th at Hearse House wherein we use a wide variety of weapons, ranging from broad swords to pneumatic air cannons to destroy anything that the patrons bring to the event.

The early portions of this day were spent making preparations. The first item of business was to complete and install a sculpture I had been working on in the basement...

This is over 11.5 feet in length and fucking heavy to boot. It was styled after a variety of military insignias as well as the symbol for Totenkopf from Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow...

Next it was time to construct Emo Head...this is a fake head we constructed and filled with blood and brains destined to be destroyed by a direct shot from the air cannon. It is made to look as Emo as possible because damn, Emo boys suck. Shane volunteered for the casting process.

All done, waiting for it to dry. Next it was time to make brains...

Ramen noodles work well for the brains, we also added saltine crackers to simulate skull fragments and various chunky matter.

Red food coloring and corn syrup were used for blood.

The finished head...damn, it even looks smug...

Weapons calibration time.

The device you are seeing here is basically a PAC weapon powered by the bike...this is capable of launching a caulking gun tube through the side of a wooden dog house, which is exactly what we did with it. Several times.

To give you an idea of the PAC's power, it blew a D cell battery through the front of this doghouse, what you are seeing here is the SECOND wall of the doghouse after it busted through the first wall. THEN...

It blew through the second wall and busted out through the half inch thick plywood we were using as a blast shield behind it all.

I decided to leave this last picture full sized because of it's overwhelming awesomeness. Know what this is?

It's a piece of a tree from my back yard that was hit with mortar fire and fell burning to the ground, but more importantly it's a metaphor...that nature, for all it's blustering still fucking sucks when it comes right down to it. That for every mighty oak, there is a human who can come along and torch that damned thing real good and all the treehugging and hippy ass Feng Shue cannot save nature from people like us, armed with powerful homemade explosives.
